Ghana is bigger than Chris Brown..

I

I believe Ghana is a unique country in its own right and concentrating on Chris "Breezys" weed smoking on stage is highly unnecessary especially when we have critical issues to deal with.

Fact is, this country is virtually on its knees and constantly giving such a non-issue space in our media is nothing but a misplaced priority. It kills the priorities of the country. For God sake  people should rather speak on issues that affect the entire population like poverty and the current energy crisis.

Its no secret ,Ghana is a culturally inclined country and therefore will find everything wrong when someone goes against our customs and values. but focusing on Chris browns folly really irritates many. This is due to the following reasons:

First,it’s a known fact that many Ghanaian artists get "HIGH" before mounting the stage.I'm not writing this to make Chris Brown's statement right but to cut down on the hypocrisy and reflect on important issues that really affect our lives and the entire population. Honestly, I don’t see the weed smoking of Chris Brown on stage affecting anyone in anyway. Why will anyone want to give him that attention? Someone who is a record holder at creating unnecessary and bad media publicity?! And guess what..! The more we talk about this issue, the more popular he becomes.

Second, RLG is a private Company and chooses which artist to bring down to entertain Ghanaians in order to gain publicity for their products and services. It doesn’t matter who comes or who pays. Their primary objective is to create attention for their brand across Africa and the rest of the world. Even though it's an indigenous company , I believe they are making a steady progress regardless of "breezys" smoking weed on stage.

Finally, i will like to say that Ghanaians must be aware that the media hype of Chris Brown's weed smoking adventure in Ghana is not for nothing. This is because, there are far more important issues when given media space will go a long way to expose neglect of the downtrodden by government and society at large. If the media keeps hammering on this issue of no substance, then one should try and find out what the government is hiding. Sometimes this unnecessary media hype is a way to keep the people busy in order for government to keep plundering the nation. Beware my brothers and sisters. The government plus the media is exceedingly powerful.

Ghanaians should be aware of the rather serious issues killing this country and not to focus attention on a non-issue. It's about time we rise above this pettiness and focus our attention on how governmental policies affect our lives and counter bad policies with all our strength and all our might.

Together, we will build a better nation.

A BRIEF OBSERVATION ON GHANA'S POLITICAL SCENE

In everyday life, people disagree on almost everything but at the end of the day some agree to disagree. People have varied opinions but not in Ghana's political situation each time an issue of national importance comes up. I wonder whether these political parties will ever have a round-table discussion on the way forward to avoid the unnecessary anxiety and dread it causes among the citizenry.

Ghana is blessed. To enjoy calm enviable to the tension of an African political environment is undoubtedly an achievement in every sense of the word, peace. We have been able to sail through the tides since 1957 and still going through it amidst the difficulties.

Today I want to move on a dire point in our nation’s politics, and that is the issue of political parties. And my main subjects are the NPP and the NDC and the polarization this has caused our beloved country. These two political parties have created a variety of divisiveness amongst the people they govern, and this can be seen as the aftermath of the recent elections.

The relationship between NPP and NDC or any other political party is not diametrical opposition. As a citizen of this country, I see it as a dispute between who has the heaviest propaganda tools to make enough followers. Many people see propaganda as not a matter of concern until they start justifying their reason for voting. Can you?

The latest shift in the polarization of this country is when the NPP boycotted all government-related activities, quite recently the state of the nation address. This was in line with their stance on electoral "irregularities" in favor of NDC.

In Ghana people of opposing political parties prefer to believe their leaders are just and fair even in the face of evidence to the contrary. They want to believe the economy under which they ''live'' in any particular government is the perfect archetype for the development of this country.

Fact is people are still caught up in the NPP/NDC political paradigm. However, my concern is that during times of economic hardship, no doubt the weakest, and most vulnerable in our communities suffer the most. Nevertheless, many people will choose to collaborate with a political party affiliation rather than think of a substantive way of making their lives a priority instead of wallowing in fanatic sentiments.
Well, My problem is that people can’t see the problem. Until someday soon, hopefully.

LIFE AND PEOPLE

I have encountered some extremely disturbing situations from past experiences, and quite recently on social media, and  I am terribly sad to know that there are so many of us lost, helpless, sore and tired of living. It’s difficult to sum everything up in a few words, but we do live in a society that isn't uncommonly friendly and doesn't truly care for anyone. We start to get depressed when we get disappointed by our friends or those we think were our friends. We get angry at being ridiculed and ignored. I know how frustrating it can be. I have felt the emptiness, and I have been lost several times. BUT, I can guarantee you, there's so much more to life. I have been reading some motivational and inspirational books, and I must say it has been tremendously helpful.

I will give you some words that I hope can help. They have helped me and are still helping me. Even though, you might think it's all pretend, know this. We usually don't like what we don't understand. And we don't understand life, we don't understand people, we don't understand the system, we don't know God. Life is not fair. Everyone knows that, but we keep dwelling on the contrary and that has been my experience for the most part of my life. I am beginning to see a purpose and an opportunity to choose what I make of my own life. At the end of the day I am accountable to myself and that is enough reason to make me adjust my thoughts to a more positive one.

I suggest to you to start living a different life. Learn to appreciate and to learn about things in order for you to learn. Don't go the conventional way; it's all lies at least from my point of view. Laws, media and mainstream ideologies.

Learn to love your self, have confidence in your self. To do that, you need to know you are good and capable of anything you want to do. Do you believe that? Anything you wish. It's not a law. You won't get it simply because you are living. You don't get a harvest because you want a harvest. If you plant you will reap, Not if you want you will reap; again if you plant you will reap. If success didn't have a price, everyone would be a success. You have to be willing to take chances, and I am doing that now.

Great places to gather more Knowledge:

Rags to Riches
Rich Dad, Poor Dad
Think and Grow Rich
The Magic of thinking big

These books are about: how people are. The different types of people there are and their mindsets and the manner in which our individual brains work, etc. When you learn new things, your brain opens up. You don't have to be the same person today as you were yesterday. Human beings are the only ones that have this capacity to choose what they want to do with their lives. Every other person just follows the natural flow of life. I know it's hard. It's hard to stay in this world. Every one faces one problem  or another  but trust me not everyone comes out of it alive or in ‘’one piece’’, and not everyone has the courage to take the harsh realities of life.

Here's one of Jim Rohn's teachings:

Every and each one of us is in a sailboat.
The wind blows on us all.
The wind of opportunity, the wind of disaster, the wind of change, the wind when it's favorable and unfavorable.
The wind blows on us all.
The difference in arrival isn't the blowing of the wind, but the set of the sail.
If the wind of disaster will hit every one of us. If the change will take part in every life. If there will be opportunities and moments that are favorable and unfavorable for Every one of us, then it isn't the blowing of the wind that will determine where we arrive in life; it’s the set of the sail.

It's not what happens that determines our life's destiny, but the way we respond as a result of what has happened. We have the opportunity to be much more than what we are today.

MY OPINION ON ''THE DOOMS'' DAY APOCALYPSE

I have observed today, people have gone about their business like they never heard of the fiery Armageddon that was supposed to happen today. In Ghana where the media is much focused on political issues like our recent elections. It’s difficult to find any news article on such an issue. The best you can find is mainly on the social networks. The sun has shone it's Ray's on us without a dent of discomfort, so we have every right to crawl out of our ‘fear shells’ and experience our lives like we always do.

There have been stories circulating on the internet about what will happen. And this brings into perspective on what religion tells us about the end of the world. Have we seen all the signs yet? What the Mayans told us even though nothing unusual happened today. What science tells us and the correlation it has to all the various theories and interpretations that surround the mystery of the day 21-12-12.

Three days earlier. I asked a friend what he thought of the dooms day apocalypse, To which he answered I have nothing to lose if it happens. He said, I don’t have a mansion, cars or monies or stocks saved in a bank somewhere so if anything happens, I don’t have anything to lose, And went further to say. It’s the rich who are afraid of losing their wealth, so he certainly doesn’t care.

Well in my opinion, I am not afraid of the world coming to an end in 2012 and for that matter any other year. I am only afraid of our ignorance and complacency not coming to an end.

The world ends for people who die each and every day but evolves around the living. It’s nothing new to the human phenomena.my Main concern is, the world will continue changing without any significant progress. The world will always vary  in different ways, and each day brings a new experience, but we never use it in the positive aspects of life. Talk of the Environment, the Economy, Politics and  Media.

I don’t expect a change in the alignment of the galactic elements to change my life. I look at it differently without the routine life plan, given that the world ends by midnight on 21st December, 2012.

Fact is all the expectations and predictions we have given this day is not so much significant knowing the world will terminate regardless if we know about it. The most crucial thing we need to learn about 21st December 2012 is to focus on our own changes to make the world a better place and not just for one day.
